1. Marx (Markus) ENGELHORN the Elder was born 1580. He died 1650 in Hockenheim, Baden, Germany.
    The oldest known Engelhorn is Marx Engelhorn the Elder. He is the first known ancestor of the Engelhorns and there exist no records to trace the family back further. Marx was a judge in a lower court in Hockenheim in 1610, 1613, 1618, and 1621. He built the inn the "Silberene Kanne" (Silver Tankard) in 1622. He probably also exercised the office of Palatinate tax or customs collector.

2. Marx (Markus) ENGELHORN II (Marx (Markus) ) was born 1605 in Hockenheim, Germany. He died 1665 in Hockenheim.
   He, also, was an innkeeper of the Silberne Kanne and tax or customs collector.
    He one child:

3. Johann (Hans) Georg ENGELHORN I (Marx (Markus II) , Marx (Markus) ) was born 1630 in Hockenheim, Germany. He died before 11 Feb 1698 in Hockenheim.
   
Johann married Susanna Eva ______ before 1666. Susanna was born about 1644. She died 10 Oct 1717 in Waldorf,  Baden, Germany.
    Johann Georg I was a magistrate and the first officially documented tax or customs collector in Hockenheim. He built the inn the "Guldene Engel" (Golden Angel) in 1690 in Hockenheim for his second son, Johann Jakob I.
   
They had the following children:

Fourth Generation

4. Johann Georg ENGELHORN II (Johann (Hans) Georg , Marx (Markus II) , Marx (Markus) ) was born 1667 in Hockenheim, Germany. He died 10 May 1742 in Hockenheim. 
   
Johann married (1) Christina Sophie SCHLOTTHAUER, daughter of Georg Ludwig SCHLOTTHAUER and Katharina, on May 1699 in Hockenheim. Christina was born about 1675/1680. 
    Johann Georg II was innkeeper of the Silberne Kanne and mayor of Hockenheim. He served for 31 years, 1711-1742.  Johann Georg II and his brother, Johann Jakob I, held the Engelhorn seal and coat of arms.
   
They had the following children:

5. Johann Jakob ENGELHORN I (Johann (Hans) Georg , Marx (Markus II) , Marx (Markus) ) was born 1671 in Hockenheim, Germany and was christened 14 Mar 1671 in Hockenheim. He died 3 Jul 1720 in Hockenheim. 
   
Johann married Marie Elisabetha OCHS, daughter of Johann Marcus OCHS and Eva Maria ______ , on 6 Mar 1696 in Altlussheim, Baden, Germany. Marie was born 26 Aug 1676 in Altlussheim. She died about 1732 in Hockenheim.
    Johann Jakob I was a Burger and customs collector in Hockenheim, and innkeeper of the Guldene Engel.

  11 M iv Hans Thomas ENGELHORN was born 5 May 1710 in Hockenheim, Baden, Germany.
  12 F v Anna Catherina ENGELHORN was born about 1712. She died 12 Apr 1759 in Mannheim, Baden, Germany.
+ 13 M vi Johann Jakob ENGELHORN II was born 4 May 1714 and died 30 Sep 1769.
