Elizabeth ENGELHORN was born 14 Jul 1923 in Munich. She died 21 Oct 2020 in Nolan County, Texas. She spent her childhood in Munich, Mannheim, Heidelberg, and Garmisch-Partenkirchen. In the 1930's, her father refused to join the Nazi party; consequently, WWII proved difficult for the family. In 1946, her cousin, U.S. Army Col. Glover S. Johns, located the family during the liberation of Germany and brought safety and provisions. Along with her Texas born mother, she and her brother, Curt, emigrated to the United States in 1947. Her first job in the United States was working for the Kleberg family of the King Ranch at Santa Gertrudis and in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Elizabeth married Laurence Worth HOSKINS II on 21 Jul 1950. Laurence was born 29 Nov 1922 in Austin, Texas.

They moved to the I0I Ranch in Hays County, Texas, where they ran the ranch with her mother-in-law, Dorothy Kuykendall Hoskins. The couple had three children, Mary Ann Garren (Jed) of Goldthwaite, TX, Laurence III of Cape Coral, Fl, and Curt (Katy) of Sweetwater.

In 1966, the family moved to Culberson County, Texas, where Elisabeth grew to love the high desert mountains of far west Texas with a passion. She ran the ranch in Culberson County for several years, and was joined by her youngest son, Curt, in 1984. In 2002, she moved with Curt and his family to the I0I Ranch in Nolan County.

Curt Glover ENGELHORN was born 25 May 1926 in Munich. He died 13 October 2016. Curt holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. Curt was CEO of C.F. Boehringer and Soehne for about 30 years. From 1964 to 1970 he was President of the German Federal Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry. He sold Boehringer in 1997 for $11 billion to Roche.

Curt married (1) Frances GALPIN, daughter of Philip Gleason GALPIN and Frances DeWolf HOPKINS, on 27 May 1951 in Austin, Texas. The marriage ended in divorce. Frances was born 21 May 1927 in San Francisco, California.

Curt also married (2) Hildegard KÖHLER on 15 Oct 1962. The marriage ended in divorce. Hildegard was born 25 Dec 1921 in Boehmen, Germany.

Curt also married (3) Anne FRANKENBERGER on 28 Apr 1971 in Heidelberg. Anne was born 5 Apr 1939 in Duesseldorf.

Curt also married (4) Heidemarie HAEGIN in 1995. Heidemarie was born 23 January 1941 in Munich, Germany. She obtained a Business Administration degree. She was relocated to Italy in 1970 to manage Orm Bergold Chemie, which was established by Orm Bergold, her first husband.

Curt and Heidemarie lived in Gstaad, Switzerland.

Kurt Maria also married (2) Hanneliese MEIENBERG on 13 Apr 1933. Hanneliese was born 20 Jun 1897 in Weissenfels, Germany. She died 4 Apr 1981 in Munich.

33. Rudolf Conrad ENGELHORN  (parents) was born 27 Nov 1892 in Mannheim. He died 13 Oct 1945 in Heidelberg. He was an engineer and head of Dynamidonwerk, Engelhorn & Co. GmbH, founded by his father, Friedrich Engelhorn.

Rudolf married Lotte CLEMM, Annamarie’s sister who married #30 Fritz Carl ENGELHORN. She was a daughter of Otto Helmutt CLEMM and Helene BASSERMANN, on 11 May 1920 in Mannheim. Lotte was born 13 Dec 1900 in Frankfurt.
